More Fish in the Water - you can help the champions

Defining the Trust’s role.
The Guardians of the Sea Charitable Trust exists to ensure that those of you who care about our collective future and wish to contribute to "more fish in the water" can do so and enjoy tax deductibility. All contributions are receipted immediately.

The role of the Trustees is to wisely use your donations in supporting initiatives that meet the purposes of the Trust Deed (the full text of the Trust Deed is available here » 2.5Mb PDF)

To date the Trust has been privileged to be able to support the following initiatives:

The Nancy Glen – world leading commercial trawl system;
The Hokianga Accord for reporting and delivering fresh information;
New Zealand Sport Fishing Council and option4 in their advocacy of non-commercial fishing interests, both recreational and customary.

Ultimately the rebuild of our fisheries is everyone’s responsibility. We either do it through advocacy or direct action – i.e. supporting better behaviours, and improved methods that result in less fish being killed and thus "more fish in the water". There are many Kiwis who respect our precious resource and are developing ingenious methods to save fish.

Please assist as you are able, and help provide a bright fishing future for generations to follow.
